TTArtisan 40mm Macro Lens

This 40mm macro lens is a very affordable, surprisingly high quality macro lens from the chinese brand TTArtisan.

There's plenty of YouTube reviews covering this lens. I do think it's very heavy compared to my other lenses, which are all partially plastic. And the lens cap sucks. The detents on the aperture ring are absolutely delightful, and the focus ring is smooth and easy to operate, especially with focus peaking features on the camera body.

I've never shot with a proper macro lens before, so any issues with the quality of the sample images could definitely be down to the user. Click the image for a lightly edited 100% version.

For the price this is a fantastic lens, and I'm pleased the option exists to open up macro photography to more people.
